Former Pakistani actress Noor Bukhari has decided to enter politics by running for office in the upcoming general elections on February 8, 2024.
The celebrity, wife of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Aun Chaudhry, is contesting as the party’s candidate for a reserved seat for women.
She reportedly visited the office of Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC) Punjab to submit her documents.
Noor is a well-known Pakistani actor who has appeared in several Lollywood films, the most famous of which is Mujhe Chand Chahiye. In addition to her work on the big screen, Noor has also appeared in a number of Pakistani dramas and modeled for television commercials and fashion campaigns.
The former actress made headlines in 2017 after announcing her retirement from the entertainment industry. She then started a YouTube channel to share her religious transformation.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is all set to hold the much-awaited general elections across the country in less than two months.
According to the electoral calendar published by the electoral body, the verification of the candidacy files will take place before the 30th of this month.
Objections to the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be made until January 3 and decisions on these objections will be made before January 10.
